Greg Hunt MP, Federal Member for Flinders, and Councillor Anne Shaw, Balcombe Ward, Mornington Peninsula Shire, joined more than 130 guests at the unveiling of a special piece of artwork at Martha’s Point on the 27th June.

A group of residents at Martha’s Point have been busy creating the unique wall hanging which represents all facets of life on the Mornington Peninsula. The 3m x 2m hanging will be placed in the village’s state-of-the-art community centre.

“The hanging features all of the attractions and activities that are on offer on the Mornington Peninsula – from pristine beaches to rugged cliffs to golf courses, wineries and cafes,” said Alicia Reinecke, Village Manager at Martha’s Point.

“The craft group have been working on the artwork for more than 12 months and we were thrilled to have Greg Hunt MP and Councillor Anne Shaw along to this special event to help unveil it.”

The event included entertainment by singer Simon Militano and pianist Dr Barry Rawlings, together with the Martha’s Point singing group.

“The afternoon was a great success and after months of hard work the residents are thrilled to see the wall hanging decorating the community centre,” Alicia said.
