A town steeped in a wonderful history...
The site itself and the town of Morpeth are of tremendous historic importance. Over 150 years ago magnificent ocean going paddle ships used to anchor here at the highest navigable point of the Hunter River. Morpeth was then a busy and important inland port for New South Wales. Today, Morpeth has mellowed into a charming town.
The founder of Morpeth Lieutenant Edward Charles Close was an inspirational man and his legacy lives on in Morpeth and in the magnificent estate homes he built and which survive to this day; Closebourne House and Morpeth House. Both homes are being lovingly restored and as the Club House for Closebourne Village, Morpeth House will be the heart of the retirement community.
It is rare, if ever that a parcel of land of such historic significance and rural beauty becomes available. This is your chance to secure your piece of something special.
