Q. What is the difference between Serviced Apartments and Aged Care?

A. Serviced Apartments are for people who are able to live independently but would like help with certain chores. Aged care is for people who need daily care.

Q. When is the right time to make a move into a Serviced Apartment?

A. It’s not so much a question of age but of state-of-mind. Most of our residents are still independent but appreciate some help with things like cooking and cleaning. Often they or their partner has a health concern and moving to a Serviced Apartment makes life a bit easier.

Q. Will I ‘own’ my Serviced Apartment in a retirement village?

A. Serviced Apartment agreements tend to be different to other real estate agreements — some are set up on a Strata Title whereas others may be on a Loan Lease or Loan & Licence. Whichever the system you will have full protection under State legislation, but please seek independent advice if you are unsure about any aspect of the agreement.

Q. Can we have guests stay with us?

A. Of course! This is your home. Friends and family are very welcome to stay with you in your Apartment for a limited time and use the communal facilities, provided they don’t disrupt other residents.
